Features

Everything in the workshop

Simple enough for a first flipbook, with the pieces you'll want once it turns into something more.

Onion skinning

The frames either side show through, tinted, so every in-between lands.

Layers

Keep the character, the scenery and the sky apart. Hide, lock, fade or reorder.

Pen, ink and marker

Three brushes that feel different, with eight sizes and four strengths.

Fill and shapes

Colour a whole area in one tap. Lines, boxes, circles and triangles in a drag.

Any speed

Slide from 1 to 30 frames a second, and see how long each one holds.

Sound

Drop in clips, trim and split them, loop to the end, fade in and out.

GIF or MP4

Render in the browser at full size or double, with your sound in the video.

Saved as you draw

Every stroke is kept. Refresh, close the tab, come back tomorrow.

How it works

Four steps, start to finish

From a blank canvas to a file you can post, without leaving the tab.

01

Draw a frame

Open a canvas and put down your first mark. Pick a brush, a colour and a size, and draw.

02

Ghost the next one

Onion skinning drops the neighbouring frames underneath, tinted, so every in-between lands on the arc.

03

Flip it back

Play the strip at any speed from 1 to 30 fps. Reorder and duplicate until the motion reads right.

04

Take it with you

Render a looping GIF, or an MP4 with your sound, straight in the browser at full or double size.

Who it's for

Made for first animations

If you've ever drawn in the corner of a notebook and flipped the pages, you already know how this works.

Kids

Big friendly tools and nothing to install. Draw a frame, add the next, press play.

Students

Learn timing, spacing and squash-and-stretch the way animators always have: one frame at a time.

Hobbyists

Layers, sound and clean exports when a doodle turns into something worth posting.

Onion skinning

Draw between the ghosts

The frames either side of the one you're drawing sit underneath it, tinted and dimmed, so every in-between lands where it should.

  • Red for the frames behind, green for the ones ahead
  • Ghost up to three frames each way
  • Show every layer, or just the one you're on
Layers

Animate the hero, keep the hills

Put the moving parts on their own layer and the still parts on another. Redraw the character in every frame without touching the scenery.

  • Name, hide, lock and fade each layer
  • Drag to reorder
  • Erasing only touches the layer you're on

Tools

A small box of good tools

Five tools down the side, each with a few choices tucked behind it. Click a tool to pick it, click again to see its options.

  • Pen, ink and marker brushes, in eight sizes
  • An eraser that rubs out exactly what it touches
  • Lines, boxes, circles and triangles

Backgrounds & fill

Paint the set once

Draw a background a single time and it sits behind every frame, in playback and in your exports. Pick a paper colour, import a picture, or fill the sky in one tap.

  • Paper colours, or your own image
  • Fill tool colours a whole area at once
  • Edit it any time from the BG tile
Timeline

Your flipbook, laid out flat

Every frame in one strip. Play it, drag frames around, and build the next one from a copy of the last.

  • Shift-click to pick a run of frames, then copy, move or delete them
  • Play at any speed from 1 to 30 frames a second
  • Duplicate a frame to build on it

Sound

Give it a voice

Drop music or sound effects onto the timeline under your frames. They play with the animation and come along in the MP4.

  • Several clips at once: trim, split, duplicate
  • Loop a beat to the end of the animation
  • Fade in and fade out
Export

Finish in the browser

Rendering happens on your own computer, not in a queue. Choose GIF or MP4 from one menu, at full size or double, and the file downloads.

  • Looping GIFs, with a transparent option
  • MP4 video with your sound mixed in
  • Double size stays sharp: frames are drawn fresh
